Vocal Mastery III

Bookmark and Share

While continuing our iterative study of the Cycle of Breath-Based Vocalization, we deepen our integration of vocal technique and musicianship. We continue our study of phonetics and diction, including the study of consonants and how they contribute to rhythmic articulation, sustaining of a legato line, and dramatic intensity. We apply our skills intensively and methodically to the study of one or two pieces that become a working model in how to approach the mastery of vocal music within one’s chosen style. An accompanist is provided. Prerequisite: score reading ability, either by satisfactory completion of Musicianship or from prior study.

This course will not be offered during the Summer 2012 semester.
