Vocal Mastery I

An overview of fundamental principles of vocal technique and spirituality of singing in this 14 week course. Within a safe group setting, we become aware of and explore the universal fears and wounds around voicing ourselves, in order to begin the process of healing, and thus reclaim our right to a free and beautiful voice. We learn about the Cycle of Breath-Based Vocalization (posture, breathing, onsets, sustaining, and release) that is the foundation of developing a vocal technique aligned with the physiology of the body and laws of physics affecting respiration and phonation. We explore and develop facility with the registers of the voice. We learn to apply vocal technical skills within the speaking voice (register one) and middle voice (second register). We explore our voice type and its application to what type of music we sing and in what range.

Summer 2012 Semester starts the week of Tuesday, May 1st, 2012.

NEW STUDENT ORIENTATION: In order to preserve precious class time and to get all new students acquainted with the Institute’s policies and procedures, we ask all new students to attend a mandatory student orientation meeting on Sunday, May 6th from 6-9pm.

Tuition for 14 and 8 Week Summer Classes:
$40 per week for one class ($560 total for 14 weeks or $320 total for 8 weeks)
$75 per week for two classes ($1050 total for 14 weeks or $600 total for 8 weeks)
$110 per week for three classes ($1540 total for 14 weeks or $880 total for 8 weeks)

NOTE: Continuing students must register before date TBA shortly to avoid a $75 late fee. A deposit (payment for the first three classes) is required immediately with registration to reserve your spot in the class(es). Payment plans for remaining tuition will be emailed to you and must be in place prior to the first day of classes on Tues., May 1st, 2012. Failure to set up your payment plan prior to the first day of classes will result in forfeiture of your spot in the class. We have interest free monthly and weekly payment options available.
