Private Lessons
Private lessons are available with faculty members of the Institute. We believe that private lessons are suited for committed students, who have advanced beyond the curriculum of our group classes, or whose schedule do not allow them to participate in our scheduled group classes. Private lessons are not for those “who dislike groups.” The group process is essential for students to overcome fear and insecurity in front of an audience.

Private Lesson Student Procedures and Policies
Enrollment in Transformational Voice Institute Private Lessons
You may request enrollment as a private voice student of the Institute by either contacting the Institute’s Artistic Director, Linda Brice (.(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address)), or upon recommendation by one of the faculty members of the Institute. Factors in the decision are left up to the Artistic Director, and include availability of faculty, studio space resources, and commitment of the student.
In selecting an instructor, the Artistic Director will recommend the faculty member best suited to the needs of the student. Then the student must complete the registration form each and every time they purchase a private lesson or a packet of private lessons. No lessons will be given until the student has registered and paid 48 hours in advance. The student will receive an email with the contact information of the selected faculty member. Upon receiving this email, the student should contact the faculty member to coordinate their lesson schedule.
Private lessons are available for purchase in groups of four 60-minute or four 30-minute sessions. A 60-minute lesson with the Artistic Director, Linda Brice, is also available. Students must register and pay for lessons in advance either online or by check/money order.
After registering, both you and your instructor will receive an email receipt from us confirming your Private Lesson registration and you will be taken to a payment page where you can pay with PayPal (Visa/MasterCard/Amex/Discover, debit card or eChecks).
Cash payments are not accepted. In person payments of checks or money orders must be made to the Institute (not the instructor) during normal business hours 9-5pm at the Institute’s Studio, 5101 SE 17th Avenue, Portland, OR 97202.

Refunds and Cancellation Policy for Private Lessons
There is no refund for unused lessons.
Cancellation/Rescheduling Policy: 24-hour cancellation notice required. If you cancel or need to reschedule your lesson, you must do so at least 24 hours prior to your lesson time. Otherwise, the time will be charged in full. The only exception is illness (see below) or extreme emergency (car accident, extreme and dangerous weather conditions, death in the family, etc.) at the discretion of the teacher. Repeated cancellations or missed appointments suggest to the Institute that the student lacks the dedication necessary for the private lesson program. Private lessons are a privilege, and those who repeatedly cancel or reschedule will be removed from the program without a refund.
Definition of terms:
Cancellation: the lesson is canceled and no makeup is scheduled within a two-week time period.
Rescheduling: a lesson is rescheduled to another time within a two-week time frame.
Cancellation for Illness
If you are ill, you should cancel your lesson. If you have canceled with 24-hour notice, you will not be charged for the lesson. Every attempt will be made to reschedule you for a makeup. If you are unsure whether you are sick enough to cancel, please call your teacher 24 hours in advance so that you and your teacher may mutually determine whether you should attend your lesson. Do not come to a lesson with a communicable illness.
Late Arrival: Please allow enough time for traffic problems so that you attend your lesson on time. If you arrive late, you forfeit whatever time you missed.
Please feel free to contact the Institute (.(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address) or 888.389.9159) if you have any questions.
