Performance Studio

Performance Studio (formerly called Masterclass) is an “open lesson” as opposed to a straight performance, and opens up the fascinating world of vocal and artistic process to the observer. Performance Studio is an intermediate format between one-on-one private teaching and a performance. It gives the performers experience singing difficult repertoire in front of others, enabling them to apply skills learned in how to transcend fear.

It opens the process of the art of singing to those who may have thought great singers were simply born that way. Performance Studio participation is a free benefit for Institute Apprentices and students, and observation is a free benefit to our friends and family. Typically, eight phenomenal singers explore diverse repertoires during a Performance Studio and are accompanied by Institute faculty member Craig Jones or Rebecca Stager.

Please note: you must register at least 72 hours in advance, give us a PDF of your score 24 hours in advance (either via registration, emailing it to .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address) or dropping off a hard copy at the Institute if needing accompaniment), and pay the performer’s fee to be eligible for a slot. Unfortunately, there is a maximum of 9 performers. Also, please bring one extra copy of your score to Performance Studio. 

Accompaniment Schedule
Rebecca Stager will be accompanying on Feb. 26th, and Mar. 25th.
Craig Jones will be accompanying on Mar. 11th.

Please note, there is a $15 performer’s fee for Performance Studio.
